The Adsmurai Marketing Platform (AMP) gives you the flexibility to import and analyze your own datasets—whether they come from a CRM system or any other source. This functionality allows you to define custom dimensions and metrics, and gain actionable insights directly from within the AMP Dashboards module.

Once your data is uploaded and configured with help from our Customer Success team, you’ll be able to filter, group, and visualize it—all in one place.
Why Use Custom Data Import?
This feature is especially useful when:

You want to analyze custom dimensions (e.g. lead source, sales region, product category).

You need a consolidated view of data from different systems within AMP.

You require custom metrics and tailored reporting based on your own business logic.
Step-by-Step Integration Guide
- Prepare Your File:
- Google Sheets: Organize your CRM or other data in a Google Sheet. Ensure the first row contains column headers.
- CSV via SFTP: Organize your CRM or other data in one or more CSV files. Ensure the first row of each file contains column headers. If using multiple files, make sure they have the same column structure if you intend to analyze them together.
- Your Own Server: You can upload your CSV file(s) to your own secure SFTP server.
- Adsmurai Provided Server: We can provide you with access to a secure SFTP server managed by Adsmurai for uploading your data. Please indicate your preference to our Customer Success team.
- CSV via Cloud Storage: Ensure your data is saved in one or more CSV files. The first row of each file should contain clear and descriptive column headers.
- Email (Scheduled): Ensure the data exported is monthly and that it includes the date in the attached file.
- E.g.: for May 2025, it could look like this:
- filenametext_0525_2025-05-11.xlsx OR filenametext_0525_2025-05-11.CSV
- This way we know the data is from: May, 11, 2025
- CSV file auto-export to email setup, or manually email and send it to: Data Engineering.
- E.g.: for May 2025, it could look like this:
- Include a Date Field (Mandatory): Your data file must include at least one column containing date information for each record. This date should be formatted as YYYY-MM-DD.

Identify Your Dimensions and Metrics: Decide which columns in your data you will want to use for filtering and grouping (dimensions) and which columns you want to use for calculating totals or seeing numerical values (metrics).
- Contact Adsmurai Customer Success: Reach out to our Customer Success team here. Inform them that you want to use the Custom Data Import feature and whether you will be using your own SFTP server or require an Adsmurai-provided one.

Provide Your Data File:
- Google Sheets: Share the Google Sheet with the Adsmurai CS team customersuccess@adsmurai.com, granting them editing permissions.
- Email: CSV file auto-export to email setup, or manually email and send it to: Data Engineering.
- The CSV can be sent at a weekly frequency (or daily, etc.) — but it is preferred to have it organized by month. So every week, day, etc. — you could send data for the entire month (rolling 30 days).
- The data that will be displayed in AMP Dashboards will be daily (once the integration is fully deployed).
- CSV via SFTP:
- Your Own Server: Provide the Adsmurai CS team with the necessary SFTP credentials (server address, username, password) and the path to your data file(s).
- Adsmurai Provided Server: Our CS team will provide you with the SFTP server details and credentials for you to upload your CSV file(s).
- CSV via Cloud Storage:
- Adsmurai Provides your technical team with the necessary credentials to allow you to upload CSV files onto a Cloud Storage of our own.

Communicate Your Requirements: Clearly communicate to the CS team:
- Which columns in your data file represent the dimensions you want to use for filtering and grouping.
- Which columns represent the metrics you want to see totals for.
- Which column contains the date information.
- Adsmurai CS Completes the Setup: Our Customer Success team will then work with our technical team to configure the data import within AMP based on your specifications. This process may take some time depending on the complexity and volume of your data.
- Access Your Imported Data: Once the setup is complete, our CS team will notify you. You will then be able to access your imported data within a dedicated section of the AMP platform. You will be able to filter and group the data by the dimensions you specified and view the totals for your chosen metrics.
❗Important Considerations❗
- Data Format: Ensure your data is clean and consistently formatted. Inconsistent formatting can lead to errors during import and analysis.
- The date field must be in the YYYY-MM-DD format for the system to process it correctly.
- Column Headers: Use clear and descriptive column headers in your data file. These headers will be used to identify dimensions and metrics within AMP.
- SFTP Server Details: Ensure you provide the correct SFTP credentials and file path if using your own server. If using an Adsmurai-provided server, keep your credentials secure.
- Customer Success Assistance: The final step of the setup is handled by our Customer Success team to ensure the data is correctly integrated and available for your analysis. Please allow sufficient time for this process.
