Google Ads conversion API with One Tag (Deprecated)

Step by step guide on how to set up Google Ads event conversions with Adsmurai One Tag.

Due to the limitations of Google's API, we have deprecated the support for Google Analytics 4.

Setting up Google Ads conversions using Adsmurai One Tag involves a few steps, but it's relatively straightforward. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you through the process:

Step 1: Sign Up and Install Adsmurai One Tag

  1. Sign Up: If you haven't already, sign up for an Adsmurai One Tag account.
  2. Access Dashboard: Log in to your Adsmurai One Tag account and access your dashboard.
  3. Install One Tag: Follow the instructions provided by Adsmurai to install the One Tag on your website. This involves adding a new tag to your Google Tag Manager container.

Step 2: Set Up Google Ads Conversion Tracking

  1. Access Google Ads: Log in to your Google Ads account.
  2. Setup Conversion: choose the conversion you want One Tag to send events to. It may be an existing or new one.
  3. Copy Tag Code: Google Ads will generate a tag code snippet. Copy the conversion ID and label, separated by a "/". Example: "AW-857837465656/h3fawt68rjk". You will find them in the Conversion goals section:

Step 3: Create a Google Ads pixel in Adsmurai One Tag

  1. Access Adsmurai One Tag Dashboard: Return to your Adsmurai One Tag dashboard. Watch the video for more details.
  2. Create a new pixel: Click on "+" to create a new Pixel. Select "Google", and add the conversion ID and label, separated by a "/". Example: "AW-857837465656/h3fawt68rjk".
  3. Save Changes: Click on the "Save Changes" button to apply the integration.

Step 4: Google Tag Manager Implementation

  1. Create tag: if you don't have a One Tag in place yet, create a new Adsmurai One Tag and set it up.
  2. Add Google Ads credentials: in the tag within GTM, paste the same: conversion ID and label, separated by a "/". Example: "AW-857837465656/h3fawt68rjk"
  3. Debug and publish changes: debug the setup within GTM and publish when ready.

Step 5: Monitor and Optimize

  1. Review Performance: Regularly monitor the performance of your Google Ads campaigns and track the conversions.
  2. Optimize Campaigns: Use the conversion data to optimize your Google Ads campaigns for better results.
  3. Adjust Settings: Make adjustments to your conversion actions, attribution models, and other settings as needed to improve campaign performance.
